ShipQualify / Physical tool

Shipping Surcharge & Oversize Checker

Turn weight, dimensions, length + girth and packaging into clear physical handling signals before you choose a service.

Reference, not a carrier quotePublished thresholds are normalized into a reusable check. They do not automatically apply to every ShipQualify service.

Reference inputs

Weight, size and packaging

This checks published reference thresholds only. It identifies surcharge or handling exposure, not a final carrier invoice or guaranteed charge.

Reference result

Surcharge exposureHandling review

61.7 lb · 110.2 in length + girth · 12,083 in³

Additional handling

  • Actual weight exceeds 55 lb reference threshold
  • Length + girth exceeds 105 in
  • Cubic size exceeds 10,368 in³

Large package

No reference trigger matched.

Over maximum

No reference trigger matched.

Exposure does not decide the route.

Continue with the same physical inputs to check destination, cargo and active service rules.

Additional handling

Weight is only one trigger.

The supplied 2026 guide also uses length + girth, longest side, second-longest side, cubic size and packaging as handling signals. That is why this page asks for the whole carton, not just kilograms.

Large package

Oversize rules are a separate decision layer.

A package can pass a handling threshold and still reach a large-package or maximum-limit condition. The checker separates those outcomes rather than collapsing them into one warning.

Qualification

Physical review does not decide the route by itself.

A viable service must still fit the destination and cargo. Continue with the shipment matrix before treating a physical result as quotable.

FAQ

Handling and oversize questions

What does the surcharge checker actually check?

It evaluates physical inputs against published 2026 reference thresholds for additional handling, large-package conditions and over-maximum conditions. It does not calculate a final carrier invoice.

Why are domestic and international reference scopes separate?

The supplied source guide publishes different criteria for some domestic and international package conditions. The checker keeps that scope visible instead of combining them into one rule.

Does a trigger mean the shipment is restricted?

No. A surcharge or handling trigger is not automatically a routing restriction. ShipQualify treats physical conditions separately from destination and cargo eligibility.

What should I do after a physical trigger appears?

Run the shipment through the Routing Checker. It evaluates the destination, cargo and physical inputs against every active service and shows the next action.
